About The Living Dance Project
The Living Dance Project was founded in 2007 by Lisa Smith and friends from the local dance community: Colleen McCarty, Juilane Patterson, Susana Waimin and Susan Autran. Lisa is a longtime dancer and cancer survivor who joined the Lance Armstrong army as a Grassroots Fundraiser during her recent (and second) journey through malignant melanoma. The non-profit Living Dance Project is a both a dance performance troupe and a grassroots fundraising event series designed to benefit LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
About the Lance Armstrong Foundation
The Lance Armstrong Foundation inspires and empowers people affected by cancer. We provide the practical tools and resources survivors need to live life on their own terms. Our goal is to create a fundamental change in the expectations and experience of living with cancer and to lead and sustain a survivorship movement to help eliminate suffering due to cancer.
We believe that in the battle with cancer, unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. The LAF was founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong and is located in Austin, Texas.
All proceeds from ticket sales to The Living Dance Project performances are donated to LIVESTRONG at 100%. Our generous individual and corporate sponsors make monetary and in kind donations to help us offset production costs for our events. If you are unable to attend our performance but would like to make a donation, you can do that on Lisa's personal page at LIVESTRONG by clicking here. We thank you for your support.
